About
The Bingerville botanical garden was created in the early twentieth century, when the town was capital of the colony. It gathers tropical species from Africa, Asia and the Americas, including several trees remarkable for their age and span. The shaded paths are best walked slowly, between bamboo groves, palms and breadfruit trees. The site also serves as a teaching resource for schools and agronomy students. It is a quiet escape some thirty kilometres from the Plateau.
